Hi guys, I'm kind of new in this iphone fever :p, i got a 1st gen iphone about a month ago... I was so eager to use it over here (COLOMBIA) that i managed to unlock it and jailbreak it by the ziphone software.

So actually i have a 1.4 jailbroken iphone.

My question is: can I upgrade my iphone to any of the new firmware versions without crashing it?? (by new i mean one of those 2.x :p - dont even know which one-)
If so, how can I do it???

Please be aware that there's no at&t over here so wud it still work with my cellphone company?

THANKS A LOTTTT I APPRECIATE YOUR HELPPP

PD SORRY 4 MY ENGLISH, NOT MY NATIVE LANGUAGE :p

When you update, you will lose your jailbroken apps and your unlock.

Updating to 2.0 or 2.0.1 will allow you to jailbreak and unlock again. Updating to 2.0.2 will make it an inactive brick (until the jailbreak and unlock come out).

Please search in the future, your English is better than many of the supposedly native English speakers here, but searching would have resolved your issue.

I'd wait on that. That 1.1.4 jailbroken is where a lot of us would rather be, with the clarity of hindsight. Unfortunately, there seems to be no going back to 1.1.4 once you've jailbroken 2.0.x. Enjoy it. The jailbroken 2.x has a meager few useful applications compared to 1.1.4. And if you do some reading around, you'll find 2.x is unstable as hell. 1.1.4 is where it's at. Feel fortunate you didn't jump the gun and get upgraditis like the rest of us.
