Jailbroken 3.01 HOW do I install the new ATT MMS carrier file without updating to 3.1. It doesnt give me the option...

First delete your 3.1 ipsw so there is zero chance you will update by accident.

It wont give me th option to update the carrier file while I am on 3.01 it only gives me the option to update to 3.1

i knew this would happen!, Apple will force any 3GS to go UN-Jailbroken if they want MMS!

I hope theres a work around cause i wont update to 3.1 till theres a JB...

I knew this would happen too. We need to wait for the 5.5 carrier file to become downloadle from someewhere then go to DOS and type "C:
\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1 to allow us to update the carrier file through Itunes

For macs, go to Terminal and type in

defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

Then it's possible to upgrade by ipcc files.

\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1 to allow us to update the carrier file through Itunes

I lost MMS when I updated my 2g to 3.1... However, I found that my phone is much more responsive on 3.1 so the loss of mms was negligible....

If you have 3.01 phone you should just use activate mms you can download it from CYdia

your saying thats the command to enter? how does that overwrite the carrier file? your not even specifying a path to the file?

When I type in the command: “C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe” /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1, I get an error saying "The volume name, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect." I looked and the iTunes.exe is in the folder specified. Anyone else getting this error?

Confirmed, i just did this through itunes and it worked fine remember to uninstall any carrier mods through cydia like signal bars and carrier logos or it wont let you update im rebooting now to see if mms works!

I get an error when installing the update with itunes.

The iPhone "iPhone" could not be udpate. An unknown error occured (0xE800003D).

I installed 5.5 on my jailbroken 3.01 and it wont end the MMS I get the error

Yea i had it working on 5.0 and 5.1 now i just updated 5.5 and it has taken a few tries to send a pic but im assuming thats due to every iphone user trying to send pics right now.. But i did notice there arnt anymore MMS setting in settings--> general --> Network..
