Jailbroken 3G phone - Cydia, apps, customize

I used winpwn to jailbreak my new 3G phone, and got Cydia onto it.

Is the only way to get apps through Cydia? I saw there was an option to put a custom payload in the winpwn program, how would I go about creating one and where would I get 3G compatible apps to add to it?

Also I got Customize on my 3G phone, but it won't let me do anything. It says it cannot connect to the theme server, then freezes up.

Any help for these issues would be appreciated.

that actually happened to me when i pwned my 1st gen, but once i connected to my network at home and i was fine after that.

You can try removing and re installing Customize.
