I'll try to keep this quick. I have 3G, 3.0 software, jailbroken with pwnage on my Mac.
About a month ago, the phone had a super hard software crash, making it now semi-unrecognizable to iTunes. When I plug it in it says "Set Up Your iPhone" from an August back-up. Since I don't want to restore the phone, I've just been manually dragging songs to the iPhone as I always have, and it loads them properly. I don't have access to the song-list or any sync settings, but the songs do at least copy to the phone. (I cannot remove them, however.) I eject without choosing to restore or set-up a new install.
Within the past month the music player on the phone has been acting all sorts of funky: skipping songs, 'playing' songs but no sound is played, not playing purchased tracks, etc. Also the phone itself has slowed to sludge when accessing SMS, etc.
I've really only used jailbreak for Cycorder and a few Winterboard customizations, so at this point, I don't even really care if I have to go back to a fresh non-jailbroken install. However, I would like some assistance in pulling data from the iPhone that has not been backed up before I do the restore.
I manually manage my music because my library in iTunes is 115+ GB, and this would be the third time this year that I have to restore and manually go through my 12,000 songs to choose what I want on the iPod. Is there ANY way to at the very list pull a LIST (xml or something?) of all my songs from the iPhone using DiskAid?
To clarify, I don't want to pull the files themselves, just a library listing of the songs so that I can have some sort of cheat sheet to manually add my music back to the phone when I restore. Years back when I had to manually fix a 2005 Nano, I remember I was able to create one single playlist that had all 1200 songs in it, so that when I restored the Nano, I could add everything back in one fell swoop. I don't know if anything similar to that is possible.
Also, can I pull an updated list of my Contacts from the phone? I'm sure I've added numbers since August, and I'd hate to lose them since my back-up is old.
This is such a hassle. I've been putting off the restore for 6 weeks because I didn't want to have to spend 4 hours manually choosing my music again, but now it's a the point where I have to do SOMETHING before I lose everything.
Any ideas? If you need any clarification, please let me know.
