I bought the HTC One X last week to give Android a go. Thought I'd do a quick comparison.

I've had every iteration of the Iphone since the 3G. My current set up is the 4S running 5.1.1 jailbroken.

4S: solid hardware although I've had issues with the home button on the 4, HOX: a little bit less so but superior design. Tie

4S: So many apps, so little time. HOX: I've been able to download just about every app I have on the 4S with the exception of Navagon. To qualify I am not a heavy app user. Clear edge to the 4S

4S: 3.5 inch retina display is a beauty. HOX: 4.7 display is a better beauty. Those that dismiss the larger display you get use to it and can't imagine going back to 3.5. Bigger is truly better. Clear edge to HOX here.

4S: Jailbroken software is a bit buggy. I can only delete apps via the PC. I've also had some other issues with respringing. I've pimped it out as much as I can and so far it's just OK. HOX Android is a little less buggy and there are some things that take extra steps to proform over the 4S but overall edge to the 4S.

4S: Speed is fast, HOX speed is lightning fast. Egde to HOX

4S: Easy to use, intuitive, HOX a little less easy to use perhaps because I'm getting use to Android.

4S: Battery life is good. HOX: Battery life is less than 4S. Usually down to 20% by the end of the day where as the 4S is at about 40%.

4S: Support, Apple is outstanding. HOX: N/A

Overall I'd give a slight edge to the HTC One X. I'm going to keep it until the next Iphone comes out then go from there. Apple needs to step up to the plate and make that screen bigger (and wider) cause it really makes a difference.

Having said all this Apple can make it look like a potato and we'll buy it :)

YMMV

On my mobile so I can't see where you live. If listed. The S4 One X has superior battery to the Tegra edition. The multitasking performance of the One X is a huge misfire. The inability to wake the phone from the home button is another negative. Lack of internal storage on the AT&T model is a tragedy.

I feel like that amazing screen goes to waste with the North American model. The real shame is that it appears the One X screen is superior to the SIII's, but the later device wins in many more categories.

The One X is a great phone, but it tries too hard to be like an iPhone.

HTC should have embraced Android more.
