iPhone Jailbroken Iphone 4 iOS 5.1

Hey , I've been searching a lot of forums to resolve my issue and dont seem to have arrived at a solution . My problem is that , whenever i try to BACKUP my jailbroken iphone through itunes , i face an error which goes as " The Iphone "Sujay" could not be backed up , because back up was not saved " . I believe this is happening thanks to the jailbreak , i really need to backup to perform a restore to iOS 6.1.3 , which again is not happening through itunes .
Please help me out guys !!

Boot up device holding volume up. This will disable all mobilesubstrate tweaks. Try to do a backup in this state
