jailbroken iphone and itunes

I had to do a restore the other day. I synced all my data from a backup I had and then jailbroke the phone (it is a 3g running 3.1.3). I had no trouble with the jailbreak but now when I attempt to sync it with itunes it tells me it is unable to write to the iphone disk and I do not have sufficient access rights. I checked that all my folders are set to full control (read, write, etc.) but it still will not work. Any idea what is causing it?
