My 3GS is jailbroken and (apparently) unlocked on 3.1.2. I say apparently as it mounts in iTunes and will allow non AT&T sims to be inserted but "cannot find the sim"?

My Wifi works fine, but I cannot make a call (obviously).

I've tried the usual suspects of resetting the network settings, turning airplane mode on/off & removing & re-inserting the sim... no change :(

What am i missing? How do I get my 3GS to see the T-Mobile sim???

Appreciate the help, thanks.

Problem Solved! ;)

After about 8 hrs of struggle, though (wife is NOT happy  )

Too long a tale to tell, but after everything else failed multiple times, I stumbled upon (truly) Sayam Aggarwal's wonderful tutorial "How To: Downgrade iPhone with SHSHs stored On File with Cydia Using Mac"

http://www.cultofmac.com/how-to-dow...shs-stored-on-file-with-cydia-using-mac/29359

Saved my butt, BIG TIME!!! Thank You Thank You Thank You ///
