I discovered the Jamd and although it doesn't have a ton of content at the moment, its a really cool concept app and neat to show off to people.

What it does is it has photos of celebrities. But it puts them in stacks. So you flip through the stack and you can move, rotate, zoom, and spin around the photos however you want to arrange them. It's really cool stuff.

I want them to develop this app for use for my own photos and I think it would be really awesome. I'd pay for that app. This one is free. Attached is a screenshot, but it doesn't do it full justice to how cool it is.

And no, I'm not connected in anyway to them. Just wanted to share this app. I almost missed it.

True Multitouch Technology Demo!

I just discovered this Jamd app today and I think a lot of people have missed what this is all about.

On the surface, its a celebrity and fashion news app (which I couldn't care less about) made by Getty Images, but go deeper and you realize this is kind of a miniature technology demo of what Jeff Han was showing before the iPhone came out. In short, you can manipulate photos (from the app) not only by pinching to zoom in and out, but rotate them with your fingers or use 3, 4 or 5 fingers to move around multiple photos at the same time. And once you've made a mess of all the photos, of course you just shake the iPhone and they stack themselves up.

It's a free app and a great way to show off the potential of what can be done with the iPhone's multitouch (which is NOT limited to just two fingers as some people tend to believe.)

Sounds cool. (The technology, NOT the celeb pics - ugh).

Now someone just needs to create something similar, that can access the iPhones photo libraries...
