Possibly the best app I've ever used.

I love cooking, and I really do think Jamie Oliver is a great chef. The app itself is really well written, has a great user interface and fonts, also making good use of the accelerometer (i.e. turning sideways shows photos of recipes, vertical shows the recipe methods). The recipes themselves are really prices well structured and laid out in a simple manner, which a great range of recipes from soups, to steaks, pasta etc. There is a shopping list too, so if you are making 3 courses, you can get all the things you need for all 3 courses in one quick and simple list!

There is a catalogue of videos too - with tips on how to chop onions, how to cook the perfect steak, how to cut using knifes etc; and more videos get added from time to time.

Anyone who loves cooking and wants some great recipes and professional chef tips - get this app. I think it is on offer right now for £2.99 as well.

I really like this.

I'm just scared I'll spray cooking fat all over my precious iphone.

Haha yeah, greasy fingers all over the screen!

Could do with someone around just to operate the iPhone!

Problem solved.. use plastic wrap over it. Just drape it over and tuck the ends under until you can wash the oil off of your hands.

Downloaded this app yesterday. Theres plenty of cheaper food apps around, but this one seems really well done, and I do trust Jamies cooking instincts.

Nothing is worse than using up all your time making dishes that turns into **** because you trusted some unknown ******** of an author.

Jamie knows what hes doing, and by scrolling through these dishes, it seems he chose quality over quantity, which is fine by me. I hate those apps when theres 5000 recipes, because then I know most of them sucks. I dont want to play a guessing game. I want every dish to be great.

So, thumbs up from me so far. This is a food app Im actually gonna use, and Im kinda excited. Hope it gets some updates as well.

I'll have to give this a try. I was on the fence, but really want something that I can use on a daily basis. Can you put your own recipes in it also?

The app is very well done no arguing that.

However, there is no way that most of these recipes can be prepared in 20 minutes. Not even close. A lot of the recipes contain 10 or more steps to prepare.

Yeah but once you get the hang of it you'll be able to have it all done in 20 minutes. I think if he called them 40 minute recipes it wouldn't sell so well ;)

I agree, this is the best cooking app I've used. I've diversified my cooking so that I'm making a different meal every night for weeks.

I've been able to make all the meals in 20 minutes or less. If you follow the steps correctly, he gets you doing something while something else is cooking. 10 steps or more is totally doable since some of them are done simultaneously.

The water in the electric kettle tip is brilliant. Instead of waiting 5 minutes to heat up a pot of water, warm up the empty pot while you heat up the water in an electric kettle in 30 seconds. When you pour it in, the water is boiling and ready to cook in almost instantly.

It's a matter of having all the tools and ingredients that Jamie recommends.

I'd like to see:

- Regular updates (I've had none so far in 3 months)
- Voice controls. Cooking and electronics don't mix.

Look in the microwave dinners aisle. No app is going to cook meals for you though an app like Jamie Oliver's will definitely make it straightforward and even fun.
