Ok kids....

Apple usually has some kind of media event in January. Likely consisting this year of debuting either or:

1. iPhone 5
2. iPad 2
3. Verizon iPhone

Now, what do you think is gonna debut at the event......and......what do you speculate the poster of the event will look like?

Have a go! :apple:

1. iPhone 5 - Why would they alter from their yearly update cycles
2. iPad 2 - Likely (IMO)
3. Verizon iPhone - Believe it when I see it

4. iWork - Damn hope so

Here's what I personally think:

1. A dual band iPhone
2. A dual band iPad

As for the poster:

...

1. Not going to happen. Summer 2011.
2. Most likely, given the recent rumours
3. Makes no sense. Why would a [international] company hold a media event to announce the iPhone on a new carrier in one country, when this happens several times every year in multiple countries around the world?

If there is an iPhone V (for 5 and Verizon), then the poster should be:

Ha Funny! Same thing I was thinking. But highly doubt that Verizon iPhone more and more. Verizon is heavily into the Android wagon and todays rumors are pointing out to pre-4G Android based phones.

Highly doubt they will release a 3G based iPhone when they are taunting their pre-4G network.

No new MBP during any sort of January media event.
iPad 2,
Possible VZW iPhone, but I wonder over the timing. Why introduce a new carrier halfway though the phone's life cycle. Why not introduce the iPhone 5 and Verizon Wireless. Now I don't expect to see the IP5 being unveiled, so that means using my logic we'll not see VZW until summer.

This is the way I see it.An iPad update would follow last year's schedule. They have set up a pretty regular pattern with the iDevices. iPods update in Sep. and iPhones update in summer, around June. Back in 2007, all kinds of rumors were going around that Apple had signed a 5 year exclusivity deal with AT&T, and summer 2011 would mark the end of that 5 year period. It also gives Verizon more time to build out more of their LTE network.

The first iPhone was debuted in January.....just in time for a new carrier

All the subsequent iPhone launches were in June. The first year, they still launched in June, they just announced in January. Since the cat is out of the bag, there's no need for early announcements anymore, they can just announce a few weeks before shipping. So there's no iPhone 5 in January.

Apply the same logic to the iPad. If Apple goes for the same yearly cycle, the first year they announced earlier, in January and shipped in April. It goes to reason that future updates will be announced and launched at about the same time, so March/April. No iPad in January by that logic.

Verizon iPhone is not going to have an event, just like the Bell/Telus iPhone didn't get an event when Rogers lost their exclusivity. Just like the the O2/Vodafone iPhone didn't get an event when Deutsch Telekom AG lost their exclusivity. Need I go on here ?

What makes people think that Apple even needs an event in January ? They bowed out of MacWorld because of its schedule, saying that they wanted more flexibility in the dates of their events. It makes sense to think then that maybe they wouldn't automatically hold events in January all the time.

No new MBP during any sort of January media event.

What makes you say that ?

With the last updates to the MB line-up being from April last year, I think there's way more chances of a MB event if anything in January than any of the other mentionned points which defy past behaviors by Apple.

First off, I'm going to state that Apple probably won't hold a keynote for new MBPs. Like the redesigned iMac (which didn't have it's own show), I think the new MBPs will be introduced online on a normal refresh Tuesday. The iPhone 5 (or whatever it will be called) won't be released until WWDC. The iPad 2 is somewhat likely, but I don't expect it until March. The Verizon iPhone is the most probable in my opinion - I guess we'll just have to wait to find out.

Oh, I expect iWork 11' to released alongside the new Mac App Store (launching on the 6th). Only a few more days of waiting! :D

As far as I know Apple won't partecipate at CES 11 on Jan 6th, then my question is... are they having a keynote in Cupertino? or there is any evidence of a keynote in Jan so far? Date?

None. I doubt they'll have their own keynote for the Mac App Store either, having already shown some of it off at the "Back to Mac" event.

Well at least we got the Mac App Store confirmed for the 6th, and CES 11 for our entertainment.

Same here, and I'm really looking forward to this. I don't like Office '11, no matter how many people said that have been improved a lot, I don't find it intuitive in any way, and gives me a hard time in many of the things I do on it.

I hope that Pages got better and still simple as before.

...unlike what they did with iLife 11'. Apple, please don't screw up iWork 11'!
