Similar to EU, Japan has passed anti-monopoly law that prevent Apple and Google monopolizing app distribution and sales.
Specifically, the law disallow Apple and Google preventing third party App Stores on either iOS or Android. And both Google and Apple cannot prevent app developer using third-party billing systems, or providing items through websites.
Additionally, the law also disallow Apple and Google discriminate against App developers and restrict use of third party browser.
Good job Japan, the walled garden has other hole. Hopefully more countries will follow.
