Hi,

My phone 3GS 3.1.2 JB (blackra1n)
What I Did:
Erase All Content and Settings
http://ipod.about.com/od/iphonetroubleshooting/ss/reset-iphone2_4.htm
This option is in the Iphone/Settings

Now If I connect my phone it show in Itunes-->Device--> "IPHONE" (not the name of my device like before) If I make right click on the device named "IPHONE" I don't have the option of restore insted I have Eject and Open in New Window, but in ITUNES-->EDIT-->Preferences-->Devices I can see my last backup.

How can I restore from last backup with out updating to 3.1.3?

Thank you for any comment.

MMM the phone can go to DFU mode no problem but I cant restore to my backup it only give me the option to upgrade to v. 3.1.3

any other suggestion?

TNX

You should have asked your question here BEFORE you did the erase all content.

Your only hope to even get an iPhone you can use is to restore in DFU mode (see my sig).

You can't restore a backup without first loading the OS. You erased it when you Erased ALL CONTENT and Settings. Unfortunately if your SHSH is not on file with Cydia, then your only option is to restore to 3.1.3.

Done!

ok I solve the problem:

1) I did this http://www.saurik.com/id/12#howto
open the file C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts (Windows) or /etc/hosts (Mac OS X) and add the following entry to the bottom of the file.

74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

2)download firmware 3.1.2 http://www.iphone-hacks.com/iphone-downloads/file/216

3) restart WIN7

4) open Itunes and press RESTORE (holding SHIFT ) choose the downloaded firmware ISPW and update

5) Itunes reconice the device and allow me to RESTORE old backup

OK, so you clicked Erase, deleted the required iPhone OS, then had to restore.

But the question still remains ---> Why ?

is this possible for the device that does not have shsh saved?

and how do i create my own custom firmware, or i can just get it from internet?

if this works then there is still some hope... i am on 3gs, 359.3 with jb/ul

Nope. you cannot downgrade a tethered JB 3GS unless your SHSH's are saved thru cydia.
If you try it you'd be stuck with only option to restore to official 3.1.3

i erase all because "low on storage space" now I know it was a bug in ROCKapps but it was too late.

Sorry, I confused the two iboots.
Yes, if you're already JB and your device obviously pwned you can downgrade or upgrade to any custom or official firmware without the SHSH's check.

thanks applejuiced.. can i ask you another favor, can you post link to instructions on how to do that, or can you post the instructions on here....

i have been avoiding adding new apps or even syncing thru itunes as to avoid any issues with my jb/ul, but this surely is a good news...!!

I restore my old backup and I have all my contacts etc.. but all the APPS (games/software) are not sycronice I run Blackra1n but still no luck when I go to Blackra1n inside the Iphone I have an error "Please check your Internet connection" my WIFI and 3G are working just fine. I dont know if this is the reason why I can't SYNC my old cracked applications ?
