JB/UNLOCK 2.2.1, 2g syncing question

Is the a way that i can sync my 2g (thats is JB/Unlocked 2.2.1) onto the same laptop that i use my 3g (not jb) with out it having to restore? i just want to use my 2g as a iPod now, and is there a way that i can change the No Serivce (carrier sign) into something else, i tried MIM but it didnt work. and where can i get the apple dock icons? im tired of the reg stock icons i need a change.

iTunes should recognise your 2G and 3G as separate devices, so you'll be fine with syncing and whatnot.

I'm not sure about the carrier logo

And for themes install WinterBoard and the theme you want via Cydia/SSH
