JDownloader stops downloading when Macbook screen turns off

With "Progressive downloader" downloading doesn't stop when I lock the screen and the display turns off.

With "JDownloader" downloading stops when I lock the screen and the display turns off.

Is there a way I can make Jdownloader continue downloading even after I lock the screen?

Let's say I want to have the app download from midnight when I sleep till the morning. Can I have it download in the background while the screen is off?

Don't lock the screen, just turn it off.
