I recently got both jedi outcast and jedi academy for mac. However, when I start jedi outcast, I get a yellow screen, but with normal sounds, and I get an orange screen with sounds when I launch jedi academy (this is in fullscreen mode, in windowed, both games have orange screens). I don't think anything went wrong with the installation of either of these, since the problems are both similar, and seem to be associated with my graphics card. Also, I tried the demo version of Jedi Outcast just to make sure, and I got the same exact problem. I have installed the latest patches for each game (revision C for outcast, revision E for academy), but even when I played before installing the patches, I got the same problems. I am running a MBP 17" Intel Core Duo 2.16 GHz, with Mac OS X 10.4.11. I have 1 GB RAM, and ATI Radeon X1600 with 256 MB VRAM. I have googled this problem, reinstalled both games, repaired disk permissions, done the latest software update, and restarted several times. I have gotten rid of all unnecessary startup items, and have tried lower screen resolutions (I usually run 1680x1050 with Millions of Colors). Btw, these are just a bunch things aspyr tech support has been suggesting, but hasn't been doing much. Any help would be appreciated, and I am willing to give out any info that may lead to the solution. Thanks in advance.

The only thing I can think of is to be sure you have the universal binary version of Academy - note that only Academy (NOT JK2) every came out with an UB version, so I think you'd do best to concentrate on getting Academy to work.

I have played both JK2 and JA universal binaries on my PowerMac G4 and my MBP with no problems of yellow screening. Actually, I haven't had any problems at all.

Have you preformed any tests to see if your graphics card actually is the problem?

I'm not sure what tests I can perform for graphics. All I know is that I have the latest driver for my card. Do you know what programs I can use to test my graphics card, since that seems to be the source of the problem?

Well first thing I would try is deleting the pref. files for jk2 or JA.

Sometimes Vsync or a different setting caused something to go funky for me. But was always easily fixed

I get a yellow screen with Jedi Academy on my C2D iMac - X1600 but it only lasts a few seconds and then goes into the normal menu.
