Hello, I have a 2010 iMac 20.5"
I recently installed ML GM, and I find mission control and other system animations laggy from time to time...does anyone else experience this?

Yea i find that Mountain Lion's animations are actually more jerky than lion on my 2011 13in 1.7Ghz MacBook Air. Seems to be mainly caused by the dock when swiping between spaces.

just curious, did you do an upgrade or clean install to ML?

I did a clean install and the animations were a little jerky at first, but, for whatever reason, they stopped being jerky after a while.

I'm running the GM on a 2008 aluminum macbook with 4GB. Smooth as silk. Much better experience than Lion.

Yeah me too!! so far so good. i did a clean install on a new partition without any apps yet, just for testing. The other still runs SL

Did you check your Activity Monitor? It sounds like Spotlight was indexing your drive, which can slow down the system a lot and cause that jerky animations issue. Once it is done indexing, it'd be faster.

well if my mac can run games like starcraft II properly, then this whole jerky system animation business is totally unacceptable..

I did clean install of GM on 2008 Unibody MBP and braced myself expecting the worst. Pleasantly surprised that ML runs very smoothly, even on this older machine. Can put off that new hardware purchase a little longer now.
