Seems to be a software bug, when I take a picture, in the viewfinder on the screen, the area that used to be a black box (outer left and right), it now shows the image. Those outer images shake. The main image itself does not. Not an extreme shake but it’s noticeable. Squiggles is the best way I can describe it.

Oh great another one.

You probably did this but update to the current iOS version. If not what version are you on?

Also, did the photo come out ok?

How bizarre. Mine does the same. On anything outside the main viewfinder in 1x main camera is very jittery when I hold it still. My guess is perhaps that ultra wide lens lacks stabilisation and they all do this? We need a few more posters to confirm. 14 pro on latest iOS. To be clear, you need “view outside the frame” switched on in camera settings and it is in the area where all the controls and shutter appears that judders a lot.

For what it’s worth I have the same but only hand held. If I put the phone on something for stability there is no shake or jiggle.

I’m not too bothered about this one though. If it bothers you just go totally black bar and report the issue to Apple.

Always the latest iOS version and the photos are always fine too. No issues.

Seems 1x is jittery but not too bad. 2x is very jittery and you can see it clearly. 3, nothing. .5 nothing.

It’s that 48mp sensor and stabilization. I believe 1X and 2X are both 48mp sensor and the wide and telephoto are not. Most issues are with the new sensor.

Remember, the 48mp sensor is the one on the bottom. Don’t take my word for it just go ultra-wide and telephoto and put your fingers over the lenses to find which is which. Since 2X is a digital crop of the 1X explains why the shaking is more pronounced. It’s the same shake but with a digital zoom added.

Definitely a software bug.

Under Settings > Camera > Composition section, turn OFF "View Outside the Frame"

I don’t see anything. Except for 4k 30 video seem jittery for me. Example walking on hard flooring and panning and recording walls and items around the room. Jitters a bit.

Here’s a good example of what I’m talking about. Around the 7m 55s marker of the subject walking down the stairs.

Well I never noticed this until I saw this thread. Mine does as well but it doesn’t change the quality of my photos so it’s not going to bother me.

You will see what we are talking about in regular camera mode.
