A lot of people are sad by his resignation thinking that his vision will disappear. I think it might be quite the opposite.

You see at the end of the day the Board of directors is more powerfull then a CEO, who is just an employee, at the top of the pyramid. Who has to make sure his lowerlevelled directors are doing their job. Tough and stressfull job with a lot of meetings, decisions and responsibilities.

Actually now he is sitting on the thrown, considering he is the biggest shareholder of the company, Steve Job's power and influence has only become bigger. Now he can watch things from a relaxer position and still arrange Apple's policy. So I think we don't have to be affraid that Job's vision and influence is gone.:)

Steve Jobs has been on medical leave since January and is stepping down because he feels he can no longer live up to his duties and expectation. What makes you think he is in a position to be MORE involved?

I didn't wrote more involved but more power and his influences will not disappear. Indeed he can no longer live up to the duties and expectations also described as "pressure", that will be Tim's concern from now on, he has to carry all the responsibilities when asked for by outside world.

His vision can be written on a piece of paper behind a desk somewhere in his own comfort and passed through to Tim Cooke, his influences can be put in action by one single phonecall. Practically he doesn't have to do as much as he used to but technically he calls all the shots. He now can work from behind the scenes.

Nice move from Steve I'd say.
