Just thought I would mention that Jog Log now supports Facepook and Twitter posting and... DailyMile integration! So now you can post all your runs directly to the best running community website there is! Oh by the way, we are the ONLY app that does this currently. :D

How does this app, Joglog, compare and contrast to established bellweathers like RunKeeper?

For one, it's loads cheaper. Jog Log still offers all the great RK Pro options like voice cues and interval timers, but costs 1/3 of the price. We also offer ghost pace (app will tell you how far ahead/behind you are of a target pace) which RunKeeper does not. You can also export all of your data, which Runkeeper will never allow you to do. If you are looking for website integration, you can't beat DailyMile.

Runkeeper actually has a target pace setting, and audio cues to inform you of your current pace in relation to the target pace.

What I'd really like to see is something like Nike's 'Cheer me on' where it posts at the beginning of a run, and anyone can either 'like' or comment on the facebook post which is relayed to the runner live.

Also a feature like runkeeper live allowing you to track a run live would be great (and not for an extra $20).

I'd be happy to test new versions, I use both Nike + and Runkeeper PRO (I vary between these, as I'm still undecided) at least 3 times a week when I run.

Our ghost pace will actually tell you how far ahead/behind you are in yards or meters which is a much better indicator of where you are in a run especially if it is a longer run.

We are also working on more live features as well. Stay tuned.

Does it pause the workout if a phone call comes in? (iphone 4)
The nike app pauses my workout iregardless of whether or not I take the call or not. Runkeeper seems to keep running, but I'm not positive.

The Cheer me on feature is indeed nice especially on long runs. I believe on app has text to voice for that feature so you can actually hear your cheer!

Yes, if your phone supports multi-tasking (3GS/4 on iOS4) then the app will keep tracking your run while you talk, text, or surf the internet.
