John Gruber sounds drunk on this podcast

I’ve wondered sometimes wen listening to Gruber’s podcast if he had been drinking before recording it because he kind of rambles and goes off on tangents. But on this one he really sounds drunk. There’s no way Rene Ritchie didn’t notice but he kept the podcast moving along.

I don’t mind his podcast. And he’s become much less of an Apple shill. He was very critical of the butterfly keyboard. And has been critical of some of Apple’s stances re: China. But dude shouldn’t be drinking before hosting a podcast.

Definitely drunk. Rene is very professional and pretends it is not happening but it is painful to listen to. it is one thing to record it after drinking but he must have been sober when he sent the edited version out into the world.

I’ve heard others mention it before so I don’t think it’s the first time. But it’s the first time for me that it was so obvious. I’m surprised he released it.

Yeah, it was so obvious to me that I googled John Gruber Drunk to see if anyone else noticed, and this was the first hit. I had to stop listening after about 10 minutes because I felt so bad for Rene. I hope Gruber is able to get back on the right side of things.

I wasn’t aware he had a drinking problem I hope he doesn’t.
