I'm looking for a joystick that doesn't tilt very far before it stops. Any suggestions?

(I won't be using it for flying, it will be more of a gamepad replacement--so I want a stick that can change directions instantly with little effort. In fact an old-school digital stick like X-Arcade would be fine except I want a lot of buttons/hats/triggers on the stick, not on the base. Because I'll keep my mouse in my right hand.)

TIA!

what r u going to be doing with this joy stick. ive never even heard of one as you described. ever since the Pac-Man arcade machine took its place in the museums, those sticks have only been manufactured for children's plug and play games. sorry , but i think nothing short of custom is going to help u. also any stick like that you are going to find will have a little red knob on the top and a small diameter stick between the knob and the base no buttons on the stick.

Well, I'm hoping that flight sticks may come in more varieties than I've seen in stores. Fingers crossed.

I want it for comfort (and carpal tunnel prevention!) in FPS games, instead of WASD on a keyboard. I use a gamepad one-handed now, but that eventually causes pain too. So using my whole arm to strafe--with a big joystick--sounds promising. But I need buttons on the stick for jump/crouch/prone/lean/etc.

An analog stick would be fine--just as long as I can achieve short, precise stick travel.
