Hi, in real use, how is the data transfer speed difference between 1500 and 9000? For example, if it takes 100 seconds to transfer a file at the default 1500, how long will it take to get the same job done with jumbo frame set to 9000?

If I recall correctly, in real world situations, jumbo frames only offer marginally more "throughput"... something like 5% - 10% more. The major downside of jumbo frames is you have to configure all the networking equipment to support them as some equipment might discard the packets.

Thanks.

Is a switch required to set up link aggregation?

I following the steps below to link the stock 1GbE ethernet port of a M2 Mini with a usb-ethernet adapter:

After setting up, Network shows that the combined virtual port is not connected. Tried to plug the ethernet cable to the stock ethernet port/ethernet adapter. It still shows that it is not connected.

Yep, you also need to configure a Port Aggregation on your Network Switch. Only useful really for Servers or Systems making lots of connections to different targets. It won't bundle 1 connection over both ports.

Network Switch needs to support LACP for Link Aggregation. So looking at Managed Switches.
