I’ve been using Parallells Access to remote into my Mac from my iPad for several years now & have been quite happy with it. After reading a post in the forums yesterday, I decided to give Team Viewer a try, as it was free & it gets pretty good reviews. While it didn’t work out for me (for some reason, it seems to keep logging out of my Mac, so I can’t remotely log in), it did have a nice feature of being able to us it in a split window on the iPad. Parallells doesn’t allow this, but it’s super convenient. I’ve been reading the other threads on Remote Desktop apps & Jump Desktop gets some great reviews. I’m wondering if it also allows you to use it on your iPad with a split desktop (multiple windows). I didn’t see anything on their website that said it did or didn’t work that way & it’s kind of pricey to buy just to find out, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Edit: By Split windows, I mean can you open Jump Desktop, then open Safari or Word or whatever, and have Jump desktop showing on one half of your screen, while Safari/Word/etc shows on the other half?

I haven’t used jump desktop, but it says in the app description that it does indeed support split-screen mode. :)

I use Jump and I love it. I especially like being able to use my gmail as a login and get 2-step authentication. Jump also has mouse support but I have yet to purchase the mouse they require.

Jump desktop is quite simply amazing. You just need to make sure you have good upload speeds on your host computer. I use it with a Mac mini I have connected via Ethernet and it works great with my iPad. No need for a MacBook.

Interesting. I’ll have to play around with it. I just bought the software and installed it. So far, it’s very similar to Parallels Access, which I was using, except that it works in Split Screen mode, which is fantastic, and really makes the software much more usable. I think I’’ll end up ordering the mouse as well, once I play around with it some more.

Yes, it’s great that is supports the mouse. I’ve got the Citrix x1 mouse.

Yah, the swift point mouse looks cool but I’m a lefty so it’s the Citrix or nothing. Have you experienced any issues with using the mouse? I googled
For the Citrix mouse last night and saw a couple of posts about issues with it tracking correctly. I haven’t heard any issues here specifically so I’m not sure if it’s on other platforms. The mouse support will be pretty useful.

I don’t find the mouse particularly natural compared to a normal mouse so I can see what others have said in regard to tracking. Personally I don’t use it and may sell it because I use Apple Pencil with iPad. The Apple Pencil support by Jump Desktop is great. I don’t use a physical keyboard much with my iPad so use it in horizontal mode mainly with onscreen keyboard. I therefore use the jump desktop trackpad mode and pen modes with Apple Pencil more than mouse. I use a Mac mini at my desk at home and use iPad Pro for everything else. It just depends how you use your iPad. I think the Citrix mouse is decent for on the fly but I wouldn’t want to use it for hours. I really like the on screen keyboard with jump desktop, it’s adds a row of very useful keys.

Interesting. I didn’t know there were pen and trackpad modes. I have an Apple Pencil. I’ll have to play around with it a bit before I buy the mouse. The Pencil may work better for my needs.

another Jump Desktop question if anyone knows. I have a Mac app (Quicken 2017) that has a window that you can scroll within. Is there an easy way to do that in jump desktop? When I try to do it, the entire Mac screen moves up & down, I'm not able to scroll within the app window.

Which input mode are you using? If you use the trackpad mode then you can move the cursor inside the window and then use two fingers to swipe up and down for scrolling.
