I use a mini Mac...MS ergonomic keyboard..and a brand new logitech mouse G203....
We have had glitches ever since connected that new mouse! It can be very jumpy. I backlight an email
and it jumps to the bottom of the page...?....then I click OPEN, of course. It has become quite annoying.

The page will scroll down using the down arrow...but when I want to scroll fast to the end of the article...
I must click in the super narrow column to the right of the words..it becomes black...then I must VERY
carefully roll the black arrow down...I often lose the column narrow spot and must keeping reconnecting
with the right super narrow side bar. This is new. I cannot tell 'which' scrolling I am setting when I
go to the Mouse site...tired of this 'new' problem. thanks

****Thank you. It is wired. By underlay, do you mean the 'mouse pad'?
Yes he does. Optical mice need to see some texture to sense movement. They have trouble if the surface underneath is too smooth.
