June 29th...are you serious?!?

I just read on engadget that they are now saying that the 29th (a saturday) is going to be the launch date. Seeing as how that guy from engadget never posts anything positive about apple and how the whole delay scam started at their website, I want to take this with a grain of salt. If this is true though, are you kidding me? I know they said june, and then late june, but if they really are out in the wild, then is it really necessary to wait a whole 'nother month to get this thing out. To me the longer they wait without releasing plan data, the more at risk they have of people killing each other on launch date to get one. I think thats a bit irresponsible. I cant decide whether to order it online, or go to my att store here in boulder, CO. Unfortunately, the apple store is like 4 stores down from the att store:eek: , so both are gonna be ****ing nuts. Im just afraid of some dude beating me over the head for it as i get on the bus home. I dont have a car, and the walk is about 3 miles. To me Apple should have started pre-order for this already, because if they suddenly just release it, it's gonna be a madhouse...:mad:

edit: i'm not trying to be a jerk about engadget, thats not the point...my point is my impatience as a kid to want my toy...haha
 
June 29th is just a rumor, they don't know for sure... It's entirely possible though, Apple has been saying late june for a long time now.

Engadget provides more coverage of Apple than pretty much any other gadget site, I don't think you can accuse them of being biased against Apple.

I think if you want an iPhone in June you're going to have to get it at a brick and mortar store. I don't know where all the Cingular/AT&T stores are, but don't forget that we have another Apple Store at Flatirons Crossing.
 
haha...another boulderite. Ya I think i am gonna make a list of cingular stores, 'cause i just know that apple store is gonna be nuts to buts out down the strip mall. ya know if you find a pretty decent place...you should hit me up;)

Steve: Late June... I hope not! I hope so!

It's entirely possible. Look what they did with the :apple:TV and DRM-Free music.
 
Remember Steve's interview at All things Digital...Walt asked him "So late June, that means like the last day?" Steve replied "ya". So to me, this isn't just possible, it's probable. But I'm more pissed than you are! I don't care to get one that much...I just want to hold one!

I used to RSS every single iphone rumor site, but most just link to the big 3: Boy Genius, Engadget & Gizmodo. Those are the only good ones.
