June release of new iPhone

So I went into the At&t store today and chatted with one of the salesman about the iPhone 3gs. I told him I was interested but that I had heard a new one is coming soon. He, along with his colleagues, all agreed that we should see a new iPhone in June. I love blackberry through and through, but the iPhone has it's appeal. One of the things I'm wondering is if battery life, email, and the camera will improve with the next generation. I love blackberry for its email and other features, such as being able to email someone back from the exact email you used to receive the message.

For example, if I have multiple email accounts set up on blackberry, and I receive an email to one of those accounts, my email response will be from the email that the message was sent to. However, on iPhone if you have multiple emails set up, it will still reply with your default email address. That's just unacceptable for a phone marketed to business users.

Also, I want to see Apple implement push the same way Blackberry does. If you enable push on your iPhone it diminishes battery life substantially, however, it's "normal" use on the blackberry and battery life is unaffected. This should overflow into all iPhone apps that enable push. I may be wrong in my interpretation of how the iPhone and its apps implement push, but Blackberry handles this quite well. Why can't apple?
 
Probably much too soon for Apple to develop an entire push e-mail infrastructure for the iPhone. I don't see it happening for so many reasons. I don't think that's their strength and they know it. Before they even implement push they need to improve the Mail UI to be more friendly to use (especially combined inbox, TOO many clicks to check all 4 of your emails).

RIM's been in the business of push e-mails since the company's inception and that's still what they do best today.
 
Sounds like you need to stick with your BB. I was also in an at&t store today and was talking to them about the new iPhone that has yet to be announced... .they told me there would be people writing posts on MR about how they wish the iPhone did this and that.....:rolleyes:

If the iPhone doesn't do what you want it to do, don't buy it.... pretty simple if you ask me. Of course you could always do what my dad used to tell me.... put poo in one and and wishes in the other and see which one fills up faster.

That isn't true. Perhaps you haven't configured your phone correctly. I have both an Exchange account and a Gmail account, and when I reply to an email, it is sent from the respective address.

If you use apps outside of Mail, then yes - you need to select a "default" account via Settings > Mail.

That quote is not true. I have several email addresses on my iPhone and when I reply it comes form the one address.

When you create an email outside of mail the iPhone uses the default email account. However, you can tap on the from email address and change it to another easily and quickly.

Same here. Outside of the iphone, I have an ISP email address, a business email address, and 2 gmail email addresses.

I have my iphone setup so that I can receive email from all of them and reply to them from their respective email addresses. I can also initiate an email from any of those email addresses.

All using the built in "Mail" app on the iphone.

I used to be a BB user for like 5-6 generations. Haven't missed it one bit. In my previous company, they didn't support the iphone, so I was locked into the BB. But as soon as I left, I got the iPhone and haven't looked back.
 
I would wait until the WinMo Phone comes out.
I mean Netflix streaming over 3G. There's no app for that!

I think he means the single mailbox that blackberry has but iPhone doesn't. One location to see ALL messages from ALL accounts, without clicking 4 times from a subfolder to get back to the account list..

If I have enough time to sit down and watch an entire movie on a portable device I'd rather it be something other than my phone.

Excuse used by fans (not only Apple fans) when something is not available on their device.
I guess it just to hard to say, "oh, that's cool", like it will diminish their device or something.
