Anyone else having issues with junk mail filtering? After installing Yosemite, I have noticed that the mail app is no longer moving junk emails to the junk folder even after repeated training by marking mails as junk.

I also have the below Junk mail options set, but no filtering is applied and all mails land in my inbox :(

This was never a problem with Mavericks or earlier.

I have tried both - an upgrade from Mavericks and a clean install, but no luck. Also did a 'reset' of junk mail rules and a mailbox rebuild.

Anyone has any other ideas?

Thanks!

Outside of auto-forwarding all junk mail to the White House, I haven't seen a fix for this, as several people on the forum have mentioned this same problem. Hopefully, those affected have made a bug report.

Thanks for your quick reply. Are you talking about the junk mail problem in general or specific to Yosemite? The reason I ask is because the junk mail filter with the options I attached used to work really well for me with Mavericks and earlier OS X releases... I am only seeing this issue with Yosemite.

Thanks!

I have seen a handful of posts pertaining to Yosemite and junk mail problems. I don't remember where I saw them. Maybe someone will chime in and be more help.

Junk Filtering hasn't been working for me at all as well.

My solution has been to either switch to Postbox which I had used under Mavericks some, or install SpamSieve. Not sure which I'll stick with.

Junk filtering does not work in Yosemite

I upgraded both my machine and my Wife's to Yosemite. None of our old Junk filtering works and no matter how many times you push the junk button on Junk that arrives from the same vendor you can't teach Mail it is junk. I guess people at Apple testing this don't get junk mail and this feature does not matter. For the rest of us it is pretty important.

Junk mail filtering has not worked at all for me in Yosemite and after 3 clean installs (just to be sure) amongst other things, I am out of things to try to get it working. Many have suggested subscribing to an external spam filtering source, but with a $2800 iMac, I don't see why I should pay for Apples inability to fix something so basic. 10.10.2 will hopefully address this problem. And Time Machine as well.
