not a rant about applecare itself, but in the digital age we live in, the PROCESS of getting it seems absolutely absurd:

1) go onto the apple online store and order it like a physical object.

2) wait several days for this physical object to be physically delivered.

3) dance around trying to coordinate being home to receive said physical package.

4) open the package to find a piece of paper with a URL and a registration number.

5) go back onto the computer and manually enter that ridiculous registration number

6) apple emails you confirmation of coverage

why ON EARTH do steps 2 through 5 even exist????

i really don't understand the current process either. its a bit outdated and i'm not sure why they don't consider selling it as a digital product through their online store. i suppose things might get too confusing with the iTunes store, Mac App Store, and the Online Apple store, things are being spread out all around.

My goodness, I thought this was all digital already... So I'm pretty surprised to hear this.

Then again, I self-insure so what do I know...
