Just a little tidbit: status bars in iPhone OS 3.2 are now all consistently black

That's interesting. I never noticed that before. I wonder why they did away with the gray status bars.

Why's that? If they do change the UI up a bit in 4.0 I think that I would definitely prefer all black. Consistency, and black is just sexier than grey.

Well it appears to be similar to the translucent menubar in OS X, except with more opacity in black. Probably more suited to having background images in the spring board.
