There are ways, but it's not talked about here.

I'm on 10.3 beta now and I can tell you, Photos in its present state is a yawner. It's the same a Photos on my iPad except every time I click on the Adjust button (not really buttons anymore, are they?) it crashes. Every time.

Edit to add: It doesn't let you delete photos, either. Yawn...

For some people that use iPhoto on a daily basis, getting it to be just like Photos on the iPad is probably the best thing ever since iPhoto is slow, like really slow.

Have you tried dragging photos to the trash can?
