To offset all of the negative posts on this forum lately, I thought I'd just post how happy I am and I can easily say that this is the BEST phone I have ever owned.

I admit, I'm waiting impatiently for apple to release a software patch... but being a former Verizon phone user and Windows Mobile 5 user, this is a breath of fresh air!

welcome aboard! and i'm sure you'll love it even more as the time passes... cause i do! this is the best phone ever... and I also am anxiously awaiting apple's software update as well... really hope they add and improve on things! i want ichat!!!!!!

I love mine more every day! I feel bad for those people who have gotten defective phones and other issues but I have faith that Apple will do its best to fix those situations as they brought to their attention.

Many times people say "oooo You have the iPhone thats so cool, I really want one. What do you think of it?" and most of the time I say "Oh its great!" and somtimes I will do a little demo for them at the end of which they are always telling me their plan to switch providers and or come up with the money to buy one.

As fun as that is somtimes... people ask me "Oh you have the iPhone how is it? i've heard such mixed/bad reviews and such about it..." I always just respond "I have no idea where that would be comming from, its the phone i've always wannted and never been able to find until now! I love it, even more everyday!"

Really, I'm just a happy customer. Even if they never update it, I still would be happy. I suspect we will see many updates however after each one we will be able to fall even more in love with this thing. I know I know I sound like just another apple fanboy, but ya know before this phone I wouldn't of been but now... call me a fanboy all you want, this phone rocks!

I think these are very few. There are likely to be more people who have poor reception than poor iPhones, by a long shot. Here, here for iPhone, a job well done! I'm withstraining myself. Someone just found out how to hack in new ringtones and get at the Notes data from the last backup. Must... wait... for... Apple... update. Diversions, diversions.

There's a good reason why a few people are using these simply to connect to the Internet (sans AT*T). I was outside on my porch last evening browsing on the steps. It's nice to enjoy the fresh air and know you're connected, if you need it.

Basically the iPhone is the best phone I've ever had! I just sold my BlackJack on eBay and I'm so glad to get rid of it. Ewwww windows mobile. Anyway to quote my wife who also has and iPhone..."it's life-changing". Yeah its that cool.

I think ex-WM5 users appreciate the iPhone even more. I'm at $150 on ebay for my old VX6700... I'm glad there are still people out there living under a shell.

Short of the cool unknown, why are you anxious for a software update?

For me I am enjoying the phone. I definitely will not mind any updates they deliver, but can't say I am anxiously awaiting one. Kind of curious as to why. Is there some problem you are hoping is fixed, or just hoping for something new?

I agree this is the best phone i've ever owned.

I don't understand why people have one problem therefore it makes it the poorest phone they've laid eyes upon. Go back to your Treo.
Also give your iMac and Macbook up to someone who will appreciate too. Buy a Joke of a notebook w/ Vista superb edition while you're at it.

I've been with other mobile carries (Sprint, Verizon & T-Mobile)and I've never had a problem with Suncom - Cingular and now At&t. At&t offers great service in comparison to its competition.
The phone is wonderful.

My only problem is a my safari will crash every once in awhile but a quick reset and I'm good. My safari will also quit while listening to the ipod but I'm sure a software update will remedy this.

Other then that my experience so far has been spectacular. Great Phone absolutely wonderful. Good wireless service too. Not blazing fast but able to do what I
need over the net.

Agreed!

I got my phone opening night (AT&T store, just walked right in). I went for the 4GB, as I'm using it mostly as a phone / internet device.

We were on vacation last week, and it was incredibly handy. No wifi at my folk's house, but EDGE was coming in at around 200kbs. E-mail worked flawlessly, stocks and weather were fun.

The biggest thing (and the one that has basically paid for the price of admission) was Safari. My wife lost her purse in a bad section of town (left it on top of the car when we were getting our 2-year old into the carseat), and we drove off. We realized it after a few blocks, turned around, but the purse was already gone. While very PO'd, we calmly used the iPhone to find the credit card / bank phone numbers and canceled everything out. We had everything canceled within 15 minutes.

Luckily, an honest person found the purse, and turned it in to the police. Nothing was missing, and we felt very fortunate and grateful.

Anyway, without the iPhone, we would have had to return home (20-30 minutes away) to get to a computer, or dealt with the hell that is *411.

iPhone is a life-changing device, and it is just the beginning.

/9.5 of 10... waiting to get the "crash" bugs fixed before assinging a 10/10. Oh, you should be able to drag&drop songs / videos too from iTunes.

Short of the cool unknown, why are you anxious for a software update?

Mainly to fix the stability issues with safari. If safari is going to be the main platform for 3rd party apps, then it will need to stop crashing so much. For me, I experience about 3 crashes a day. But no biggie, just annoying.

I don't understand why people have one problem therefore it makes it the poorest phone they've laid eyes upon.

Outside of a few trolls who have already left, has there been anyone who said 1 problem was the reason they returned it?

I mean, I get if that "1 problem" is the battery being dead or a screen not working or something else major....

But I haven't seen anyone say one little problem is the reason for returning it.
