ok and duh it doesn't make u a developer it gives u the tools to be one! :D
its like halloween u can dress-up as a fireman but ur not one

Well you should definitely look into actually developing apps. It's a very profitable market. I'm learning objective c and am planning on becoming a dev myself :)

He can't even figure out how to get The beta OS. Developing apps might be tricky.

Actually to be fair to the OP, the way Apple's system shows the signup does make it look like something might ship as it does include "Free shipping" and other shipping references.

LOL it isn't a waste of money. I've seen one person on here buy a 16GB W-Fi iPad because he couldn't stand waiting for the 3G version. That's a waste of money.

Jeez people. Ease up on the guy. If he wants to join the dev program it's his perogative. $99 is good motivation to learn how to code an not really all that much anyway.

And yes, Dr K, an email from Apple will come with a link to click to activate your dev account. If it's a yearly renewal, as soon as the email arrives you'll be able to sign in.

lol. I've seen a lot of people doing that, and comparing this to that... $99 to get dev tools is nothing. But anyhow... I'd expect an email will be sent to the OP, but as for me, I'll wait like most people till summer, once I live that long it will be there waiting on me. Cuz it doesnt really make much sense to me to pay for something which isnt working properly not, when you can get a perfect working version for free in a couple of months

Wait. What are you getting for free in a couple of months?
iPhone OS 4.0 when its released in the summer.
OP here is a VERY AWESOME site that I found and I recommend you buy his book "Programming in Objective-C 2.0". Its written by Stephen G. Kochan. He has an online class going on now that you have to pay for (its a web cast) but sense its already started Im just following along with the assignments and quizzes that they have up. The quizzes are free btw!
