Hi guys I have had a 32 gig iPad since day 1 I love it. Well today I saw on craigslist a 32 gig wifi + 3g iPad so I had my dad pick it up for me (I had to work) So I get home and look at my "new" iPad to see it had a dent in the back. According to the seller it has been in the apple case and has had a screen protector since day 1. So my question is if something else goes wrong lets say.... the screen stops turning on or the wifi no longer turns on will apple still replace it? or fix it? just wondering thanks

They wii see the dent and say the damage caused the problem. You should get your money back or a discount from the seller since the damage wasn't disclosed.
If the craigslist guy takes it back (or offers a reduced price due to the damage) great, but I can't imagine why he would do that after your father accepted it and paid him for it.
You're probably stuck, assuming anything goes wrong.
The machine is physically damaged, and depending on what breaks (if anything) you can bet that they'll take one look and say "Nope."
This assumes, of course, that anything goes wrong. It might run like a hose for a decade while un-dented iPads fall left and right!

Sorry to say it's probably too late to do anything about it now. You absolutely need to examine any items you intend to buy before you hand over the money. The seller has every right to say the damage occured after he sold you said merchandise.
As long as it works though you should be OK, just put it in a case if the dent bothers you.

Transactions such as this are as-is unless otherwise stated, just like buying a used car. There was opportunity to inspect the iPad prior to handing over the money. Your father entered into a contract with the seller and money was exchanged for the goods. The seller has no duty to do anything about it. It would be like buying a car from seeing a picture. If there's something wrong with it and you chose not to inspect it first, it's your problem.
It very well could have been in an Apple case with a screen protector on it. That does prevent it from being dropped creating a dent.
Exactly. It's rather silly to be saying, "He sold me an iPad with a dent in it" when the question should be why an iPad with a dent in it was bought in the first place. It would be rather hard to say you didn't do it when you had the opportunity to inspect it.
A small dent should not necessarily void the warranty.
These things have aluminum backs. Even babied ipads can succumb to denting, and they will if they are used without a cover. The last time I checked the warranty does not require that you use a cover.
