I just installed a gig of ram from crucial. it was very easy especially after buying a 00 screwdriver. anyways, is there any way to check the performance and quality of it. I know its been recognized through "about this mac" anything else i should do?

you should be fine. Feels faster? :) :)

little bit. havent really ran it with a lot. startup seemed slow when the apple screen is up and the spinning wheel. but once it gets to the OSX startup with the progress bar it is so much faster i feel.

If it reports all the RAM in About this Mac, then you're most of the way there.
You can go into System Profiler and see what speed the RAM reports -- but this is the SPD setting its reporting, not the actual speed.

To test RAM, go to versiontracker.com and download Rember.

Thanks
