Build quality is great, it's stylish and as smooth as butter. Factor in the price it's just a massive bargain.

They are nice but the camera is terrible.......just terrible.

What do you expect for under 200 dollars?

Regarding the moto g, its a shame that the budget market will likely still be led in sales by inferior products to the moto G, many of which cost more.

Ideally, I'd like to take a budget class phone like the moto G (which is absolutely fine for my needs performance, screen, and build-quality wise) and configure it with a better camera.

The current way phones are sold, if you want top of the range camera, you also have to pay for top of the range performance, screen, and build-quality whether you need it or not.

.....maybe custom configurations is something Lenovo could bring to the table.

Good for you. Word of advice though, don't ever let the battery go empty. I had left mine discharged for a couple of days and now I'm unable to resuscitate it and I've tried all the tricks bar the freezer one. Sending it to Motorola for warranty repair.

I've had one for 2 months and love it, I also have a iPhone 4S and I think the Moto G takes decent enough photos but I also have a Nikon D80 that if I need real photo's taken I can do so! batty life is awesome and I easily get 1-2 days of service!!

God people want the moon on a stick for no money, eh?

The G is exceptional for the price. Exceptional.

I've experienced the same thing with a Nexus 7 and Galaxy Note 3. Nexus 7 was dead dead, even leaving it plugged in for 24hrs didn't revive it. I returend it. Galaxy Note 3 took a while but came back to life eventually.

The camera is adequate for the price. It's not going to be an amazing shooter. But it is there should anyone ever need it. People are just going to ruin the photos on instagram anyway.

I've drained my Nexus 7 (2012 & 2013) several times and thankfully, I've never seen this issue on those devices. It usually takes 20 minutes or so before I'd even see signs of life (battery charging display) but at least they do come back to life eventually.

I got my Moto G last night from Amazon and I absolutely love it! Beautiful screen, nice battery, good sound, adequate camera. It also had about ~12.5GB of free space which was more than enough for my apps.

Can't beat it for $199.

Since I plan to move back to SoCal next year, Moto G has been one of my "micro-sim" options in case I plan to use the One beyond two years and would like to switch sims back and forth. I have the adapter (3 in fact for mini/micro/nano) but it is such an added hassle to fit it perfectly. This is why I'm reluctant going Moto X as well. And since I'm still very reluctant to iOS' limitations and forced upon ways, I have very few options next year if I do plan on upgrading since most newer flagships phones will get bigger and go nano. Google Nexus 4/5, Moto G, or maybe go exotic and get a white Huawei Ascend P6. Top micro-sim phone options for me without needing to commit two years with AT&T. LG G2 will already be discontinued by the time I arrive next year and not much of a Samsung fan.

I bought a Moto x. long story short: I've sent it back.

had 2 crashes.

but there is one thing i really like: the google now speech recognition is much better than Siri when you mix up two languages.

I got one today, was looking for a second phone, had a note 3 for 3 days but decided it was too big and overkill for me.
I have a 5s for business and was looking for a private phone. Now i am using the moto x with both sims and loving it. Only need one device and so easy to swap between sims, i can turn my buss sim off after hours and weekends and go to my prepaid sim. Have a 4G iPad for iMessage /facetime.
Call quality/reception is better than 5s and note 3.
Haven't tried the camera on it yet but if all goes good i may update to the moto x when it arrives in Australia next month. Have a camera anyway.
This one is only a 8gb Australian stock but have put everything on it i want and have 3gb left. Makes me wonder why i was carrying around 50gb on a 5s. See how it goes anyway. For $200 what a phone.

Edit: just sold my 5S for $775 happy days :)

I drained mine yesterday no problem re starting it.

Today for a 9 hour work day with bluetooth on, plenty of calls/messages browsing and still 41% left on battery. And that's a 2.5 day old phone. Its a work horse.

Its better than i was expecting. Yeah if you want real photos can't beat a descent camera:)

I am using my 5S nano sim with a adapter and is working great. Easy to fit and put in. Was only $1 off ebay too.

I've done that several times without issue, too. However, my problem was I forgot the phone in the office on a Friday (around 15% battery or so) and had to call in sick Mon-Wed so the battery was without charge for a few days. If you check out XDA forums, it seems to be a common issue although I haven't seen a case as severe as mine.
