iPod Just Bought a new ipod touch 3g but cannot unlock

Hello,
I just bought a new ipod touch 3g yesterday from Fortress.When i connected my ipod to the computer,the ipod turns on and on first start it usually need itunes to unlock the ipod to make it usable but the problem is that my computer does recognize my ipod but itunes don't.Itunes can recognize my iphone but not ipod.
This is how it looks on first time bootup.I can also turn it off by press power/sleep button then the silder comes out in which you have to slide the button to turn off the ipod. Please someone help me out.

hold the center button and top button at the same time until it resets by itself

How long was your ipod been connected to the computer?

Me too had the same thing and the ipod charged for about 2-3 hrs before it let me in.
