Yay, just got my first Mac off the apple education store and it should be here by next friday!

I got the standard middle model, 120gb HD, 2.16 processor, superdrive etc..

thx to any questions that have been answered over the past months..

:apple:

good luck with it!
i got mine from the education store store, standard base model macbook. 2.0Ghz 1GB RAM,etc.
I love it!
Ive been using it for say three months and yesterday went back to use an xp model and it was so werid! I coudnt remeber all the commands and tired to use two fingered scrolling!
macs have a few problems but are still fantastic machines.

Congrats! I've had mine for about 2 months now and I couldn't be happier with it, the thing speeds like a bullet! :)

I assume you're a college student, so I'll respond as such.

I've found my macbook to be incredibly usefull for classes, but don't take for granted the usefulness of a pc on campus. Many classes require you to be able to have access to Excel, Powerpoint and Access for a variety of assignments. Just keep in mind you might need to use somebody else's pc or find the computing commons to get assignments done if this is your primary computer.

If you know all this and I just sound like a douche, then sorry :p

You can always use parallel or boot camp, or use Office for Mac for everything other than Access.
Btw, to the OP, congrats!! i got mine for 2 months now, its a great machine! my old xp laptop seems ancient by comparison, so slow and annoying with its constant anti-virus updates .

yea, well i'm going to be studying music, and the classes i'm taking use Mac Pro's in the studios, so its all good! :)

I did much the same research you did and figured for the money this is a great machine. I've wanted a Mac for years but my wife was reluctant. After a shopping nightmare for a windows laptop ( due to people at the store telling her Apple did not have any promotions for the machines), she phoned me from Toronto asking what I would buy. She popped into the Apple Store there and an hour later was converted. I've used Mac before so it is like a homecoming for me.
