I just ordered a Samsung EVO 860 for my Mac Pro 5,1 (upgraded 4,1). What sled, connectors, etc., do I need to order in order to put it into one of the drive bays? Thanks for any information.

Although I knew about everymac.com, I did not know about that part. I'm about to order two of the kits for the Mac Pro. Thanks again for putting me on to that!

Running into the same problem here - cMP 5,1 (Mid 2012) already running the Lycom DT-120 with a Samsun 970 Pro NVMe; that beautifully.

The 2TB Samsung 860 EVO I have laying around is a B+M keyed SSD blade which doesn’t work with the Lycom cards. I’ve searched everywhere but can’t seem to find a PCIE card that supports B+M keyed SSD blades at this point. I believe the OPs drive is the same as mine, has anyone found a card that works?

This?

yes, but you will need cabling to a sata port, so speed is just same. If not using a nvme blade its wasting a pci port.

also you need additional heat sink for the nvme part.

i have such dual nvme / sata Blade cards with a fan. This kind or with snap on heat sink. If one uses NVMe, otherwise its wasting a port, as written.
