Wanted to introduce myself and say hi as have just signed up to this forum but have been a long time reader.
Recently made the switch and bought an 24" iMac 2.4Ghz now that free upgrade option to Leopard has been provided. Started life out on an Apple 2e when I was a university student, then migrated to MS and Intel systems for gaming reasons. Have for too many years put up with the frustrations involved in using Windows 3.1, Windows 95,98.ME and now finally XP. Could not bring myself to make the switch to Vista the more I learned about the benefits of using Apple systems/OS.
Can't wait for the new iMac to arrive, but in the mean time I have a question. I plan to plug my printer and external drive into the Apple Extreme Base station I ordered, and plan to transfer all my files (documents, photos, music, and videos) to this hard drive. I will need to format this drive and am not sure what format type to use that both computers can read write too as in the first instance it will need to be connected to my old Windows XP system to have the files transfered from, and then later readable by the iMac
Cheers for any pointers, Steken
