Just Bought First New Mac!

Well, over the years, I've owned lots of older, used Macs, and I finally got the urge to buy a new Intel Mac, because the PowerPC platform was no longer allowing me to run the applications I wanted to run, so I advertised my iBook G3, PowerMac G4 Mirrored Door Dual 1Ghz, and my 20" Acrylic Cinema Display and got enough out of all them to buy a refurbished iMac 2Ghz Core 2 Duo. It will also probably end up replacing my old eMachines Celeron 3.33 for moderate Windows gaming, the eMachines has an ancient Radeon x600 graphics card in it, even the lowly 2400xt absolutely destroys the x600. Needless to say, I can't wait until I receive it, I've heard lots of good things about them, and I'm literally counting the days until my order arrives I do have a couple questions:

1. I read on a site based in the UK that the first aluminum iMacs only came with 1 RAM slot. That's not at all what I've heard, and most people say there's two, just want to make sure before I order an extra 1GB chip to take me to 2GB.


2. Has anyone tried this machine in Boot Camp? How was your experience? I don't plan on playing any super modern games, and I figure I'll have to run them at lower resolution as well


3. Can I do extended desktop mode using the mini DVI port with appropriate adaptor? I remember that with the older iMac lampshade models and eMacs you could not without an aftermarket application, but someone told me this isn't the case anymore

1. I read on a site based in the UK that the first aluminum iMacs only came with 1 RAM slot. That's not at all what I've heard, and most people say there's two, just want to make sure before I order an extra 1GB chip to take me to 2GB.

Someone must have been confused; the Aluminum imacs come with 1 1GB stick of ram, but there are 2 slots. That makes is easy to go get a cheap 2GB stick and shove it in there for an easy 3 gigs of ram (exactly what I did ). It's very easy, and only takes about 10 minutes.

My imac runs XP under boot camp better than any PC I've seen, but that's just my experience. I play RCT3 and the like.

As far as I know this is built in, but I haven't tried yet.
