Probably s VERY VERY small speed difference... but you may want to upgrade the RAM

That'll be decent...I'd up the RAM though.

Is that the white one with 60 GB hard drive? FYI, Apple is selling those in their refurb section for $899.

did Pretty good
cd2 v.s. cd is 15%-20% faster at pure data churning, but thats a thing most don't rely on. You'll want to up the ram. I got some ram that'll work in it if you want to buy it from me. I have a 512mb stick.

Yes, I saw the refurb... Same one..... 100 bucks more... New...

New does not = better than refurbished.

Apple refurbished systems are absolutely indistinguishable from new. The only difference being that you get your system in a brown box, as opposed to a fancy white box with graphics.

Refurbished items still come with papers, disks, cables, and an Apple warranty, with the option of buying Applecare.

Quoted for truth. Sometimes you even get more ram and bigger hard drives with the refurb option, and it's MORE likely not to have any issues due to the fact that it's been through the wringer where they actually check for issues.

i would say so for the refurbished apple product before, but now i can't, i got 2 refurbished ipods from apple, and one of them was dead in a week, im not sure now if apple refurbished stuff is that good in quality.

1 dead pixel is in the range of acceptable, no computer maker will exchange a laptop with <6 dead pixel, sorry, bad luck....well, on this point, i think in store is better than order online, maybe u can request to open and check....

and yes, you should add RAM for sure.
pure cpu power, C2D is 7~10% faster than CD. I think I read this number from somewhere, maybe tomshardware, or anandtech or macworld.

I have both

I have both a macbooks configured the same a 2.0 CD white with 1gig of ram and also a 2.0 C2D Black with 1gig of ram. I honestly see no noticeable difference in "real world" usage.

oh yeah, most benchmark are based on high CPU load activities, such as encoding a video. thats where the maximum difference will be revealed.
