Well, I used to love Apple computers, I had a 17 in Powerbook, traded it in for the laptop that is in my sig. Used that for about 1.5 years while going to school, at the same time I was also using my Mac Pro, specs in the sig, until the sad day that my Mac Pro overheated and stopped working.

Instead of being smart and paying $700 to get it fixed, I decided that I would build my own Windows computer, which worked great, but I always missed OS X, and the way that Macs work. Well today my home build computer overheated as well, destroying the PSU, MOBO, and CPU completely.

So I decided that it was time to go back to the greatness that is Apple. I just got done purchasing my new 27 inch iMac i7, with 8GB of ram and a 1TB hard drive.

I have 4 external Hard Drives that are all 1TB and I will set them up in a raid format if possible.

I already own FCS, which I used on my Mac Pro. Just wondering if it will work fine on my new iMac.

Sorry for the long post, I'm just super excited I'm coming back to the Apple world, after a 1.5 years away from it.

Congrats!

My advice to you, though, is to avoid these forums completely. The poison here is quite prevalent.

Haha and thank you. I have been following this site for the past 4 years now actually, and was a regular poster on it while I used my previous macs. I know that 90% of the iMacs that are being sent are actually fine, and only people with problems have reasons to post.

As long as you're quite aware of this, you'll be fine. I and many others are enjoying our FIRST i7 iMacs. :)

Do you have any experience with Final Cut Studio, or Adobe CS4 on your iMac? And if so how does it run?
