Very very unlikely. The same happened to me on the change over to dual core.

Obviously you're not a golfer.
how dare they release new products without checking with you first!

did you not think that at some point apple might release a new iMac?

if you are within 30 days they may let you pay the restocking fee and get a new machine, not sure tho.

then ignore it. its not no point at all, i think its ridiculous the way people get upset that apple has the audacity to release an updated product. should apple never release new product? should apple sell you a machine and say "by the way, 30 days from now we are releasing a new machine with a new design and better specs - so you must be stupid to buy this one?" does the new machine coming out make the machine he already bought somehow useless?

No, they won't. Not only don't you have a leg to stand on, but you bought what you bought when you bought it. Deal with it. Damn, I bought a 2004 Toyota Corolla 3 years ago, now they have newer better ones. I DEMAND a new one because Toyota didn't TELL me they were going to update them. DAMN THEM

woot on hold she said probably yes

Oh snap. I'm gonna try this with my MBP when they update them in 6 months. Apple didn't tell me they were going to update them when I bought mine. w00t!!!

How is it that you found this website the day new iMacs were announced but didn't bother to look for it when you were shopping for an iMac?

If you had spent five minutes browsing Macrumors in June or early July you would have seen several threads, as well as front-page news, talking about when new iMacs might arrive. To be sure, they were speculation. But that was enough to cause a number of people who cared enough to do research to hold off their purchase.

You're lucky you even got that far.

The fact of the matter is this:
At the point of sale, you paid the price for an item that you found held that amount of value. The item you paid for hasn't changed. It's still the exact product you paid for.

You won't get any sympathy here. Quite the opposite as you can see. Computers change constantly. You bought what you bought.

I think you have about 2 weeks after a purchase for them to partially refund you or offer an upgrade if they are updated, but that's about it.

well.... just for the record, it seems that there are quite a few people unhappy with the next imac design and since internally they didn't get THAT much of a jump and discontinued the 17inch (which some people really still want) you probably could get a pretty decent price for your 1 month old imac if you sell soon and probably not lose too much and just have to pay a little more for a new 20 inch.

Just a thought :)
