I just received my new CTO 17" MBP (hi-res matte, 7200 RPM drive) today, actually a week earlier than expected. I ordered July 15th, with an estimated delivery of August 10th.

Not sure if this has been posted already, but the first thing I noticed when I opened the box was that it came with the new smaller power adapter. So everyone that ordered within the last few weeks can breathe easy - you should get the new power adapter.

Fit and finish seem to be perfect as well. I will report back once I actually turn the thing on and see how the screen and everything else looks.

Sounds great,

I'm sure you've assured alot of anxious people who were wondering if they would get the small power adapter.

Good luck on your first bootup, enjoy that beautiful hi-res screen

Us or EU?

I ordered mine on 17th and will likely get it by the end of the week.

I'm wondering however: are you from the US or the EU?
Perhaps only US customers get the new 85W power adapter since it is not available in any of the EU stores (as a stand alone product, I mean).

Looks like awaiting my MacBook Pro will be even more thrilling (that's my first Mac! :) ) then it was so far.

Bye,
Gabriele

According to Engadget I think, you're more likely to get the 85w if your MBP is built to order.
