Hello all have had my 3GS for 2 weeks now and I love it. I'll never use another device.

I have 2 weeks left if I want to return it.

Should I return it and wait for the next generation? I hear that the next generation won't be much different?

Marc

Software wise you would be fine, because the 3GS will almost definitely run OS 4.0.

But if you want a better camera, possibly a better screen, possibly better battery life, possibly different form factor (possibly bigger screen, etc...) then yes you're better off waiting.

either way you should be happy.

Nobody knows what the next gen iPhone will be like, have to wait for WWDC. I would suggest keeping the phone and selling it on ebay before they announce the new version so you can get the most for it. I plan on selling my 3GS a few months before the new one comes out and taking the money I get from that to buy the new one.

i vote for waiting for the upgrade. It is highly unlikely that you'll wait longer than June. I'm spending that time trying out a variety of smartphones (thanks to google voice, I don't change my number). If I like one enough to keep - great. If not, i'm keeping my options open until June.

Actually I bought my iPhone from Best Buys refreshed for $150. The salesperson strongly suggested I buy the refreshed versus a brand new one. The refreshed iPhones are ones that people have test driven, didn't like it and returned before 30 day test drive.

I called Apple and they said my iPhone is from October.

I assume it won't matter as long as it's a 3GS if I decide to sell it and want to want to use the funds towards the new version?

Dude, that means you have on with an older bootrom like mine. Right now JB and unlocked 3GS' with the older bootroom are going for $550-600+ on ebay. Thats why I plan on selling mine soon and just buy the new iPhone when it comes out with all the moola I made lol

Return it and get the Nexus One. :) Lol.

your joking right? lol the Nexus one is a fail oh and a quote from google "dont put it in your pocket"

http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/HTC...Nexus-One-not-for-pocket-article-a_10034.html

on a side not I'm Debating wether to get a 3GS the end of the month or wait I'm leaning more twards a 3GS all I really see for a 4G is a slightly faster processor and possibly a 5MP camera but seeing the Droids camera its bout the same as the iPhone camera imo.

Wrong.

It was someone from HTC. not google that said this. And it wasn't an official statement from HTC, it was some bo-zo low-level support guy that said
"people sometimes forget that they don't go in pockets"

It would be great if you didn't post false information. kthx

I'm not sure where you heard that it "wont be much different", but we (the general public) have no idea what the next iphone will be like. If you're happy with the 3GS, I see no point in returning it... You still have ~3months before the next phone comes out.

n1 still sucks. kthx

Thank you for your very insightful and relevant post.
