Just got a Mac Pro - Questions on SSD install

I just received my 2.8 MP from Apple refurbished store. It came with one 1TB hard drive. I have a brand new 240GB OWC SSD that I want to throw in bay 1. My old machine is a 2007 iMac running lion 10.7.4. Can I simply install the SSD and on the initial boot make sure my time machine drive is connected and use migration assistant? Is this possible? Or isn't that an option on the utility? Sorry I've never done this before. Another way I thought of is maybe I have to use migration assistant first then run a time machine back up on the Mac pro HDD then install the SSD and boot from time machine. Which way is correct?

Yep. Or you can put both computers on the same network (I assume they are) and use migration assistant over the network. I highly recommend going wired if you do it this way (tried it once wirelessly and boy did that take forever..)

Thanks. I'd also like to move the 1TB drive over to slot 2 and use it for music/photos/movies. Do I have to erase and reformat that drive even though it has the original OS on it? My mac pro didn't come with any software discs or anything. I didn't expect it to since Lion is only available on the App store. Thanks
