Just got a new iMac (pc user)

I've only had my iMac for a few hours but it's a great computer so far. Since I'm a windows user, its a little different for me (but still great. This keyboard needs some getting used too though.)

So far my only complaint is the Caps Lock key on the keyboard. Unlike most people who press shift and hold down the letter they want capital, I quickly press capslock on and off. I can't do this anymore, because while most of the time it responds fast, other times it'll take a second or two to respond.

Ignoring that though, I'm enjoying my new iMac and OS X and I can't wait for Leopard to come out. Just for those people aren't sure wether to get this system or not - GET IT.

As a new Mac user I´m loving the iMac experience. The keyboard is taking a little getting used to, but I love tapping away on the new iMac keyboard. There are only two things which are bugging me. One is the location of the headphone plug. The fact I keep having to go behind the machine and disturb it every time I want to plug and unplug my headphones, or connect external speakers. The other thing is that on the Windoze side, my Oxford English Dictionary (which is the ultimate authority when it comes to the English language) programme data disc refuses to work in XP because it is on a Mac machine. I rang their tech support and with this particular programme they say no to everything Mac, they are aware of this issue, but aren´t planning to do anything about it. It´s unbelievable.
I know there are a lot of online dictionaries out there, but the complete OED is the authority which few can argue with, when it comes to discussing issues concerning the English language.
I was a little concerned about the glossy screen, but I have to admit in my case after 4 days, I think it´s a joy to work with.
I also found connecting my printer to my iMac amusing. In OS X as soon as I plugged it in, it just worked. When I moved over to XP, I had to install it using the software cd which came with the printer.
The whole mac experience is user very user friendly and dare I say fun. Though those pop up boxes asking for my password which seem to appear every now and then do remind me a little of windoze.

The keyboard takes a couple of days before you get used to it, but it's incredibly easy to type on once you do. I was very sceptical of it at first, but now I prefer it to the one on my previous iMac.

This is actually a new feature on the aluminum iMac keyboard. You will notice that if you tap it very fast it will not engage the caps lock. This is to protect users who accidentally hit the caps lock key when typing. But that is ONLY when you tap it very quickly. It will caps lock if you press it fully.

If it is taking two seconds to caps lock I suggest it might be defective and you should send it in for a replacement.
