I had the same problem and read the above somewhere. Worked for me with three pairs of AirPods.Your AirPods aren't auto-switching correctly? Welcome to AirPods ownership! This feature is notoriously buggy and slow. Try the suggestion above but for some reason a lot of people can just never get it to work. I turned it off and manually switch now which is still pretty faster if you're switching between relatively new Apple devices.
Thanks, I'll give it a try. I was considering just sending them back to see if I got a faulty pair, but it seems like this is fairly common.Turn all three devices off and back on. Disconnect them from whatever device they’re paired to. Connect them to the other device then connect them to the original device. They should work. But you have to have one not active or you have to go into settings to swap it sometimes.
Seems like you're in the minority. My MAX headphone have not failed to switch multiple times from my phone, laptop and iPad, so far.
It is good to be somewhere. I just got my MAX a few days ago and I can go from listening to music from my iPad to talking on the phone. Hope it does not stop but usually I do not have more than one device going at the same time.Seems like you're in the minority.

I am impressed with the MAX! Best base I have ever listened to on a headset, wish I would have bought these a year ago. I thought my Sony Noise reduction was the best but the MAX beat the Sony in NR and sound quality.

Personally, I prefer the noise cancellation of the Sony headphones compared to AirPods Max, it’s more apparently to me when I’m flying though.
