I have an iPhone 5 and 3rd generation iPad, so I've used email through apple products and have never had a problem. All my contacts, email and calendar appointments show on both devices easily, never a problem.

For some reason my email won't delete through the iMac email client at all. It always shows back up, and my hotmail email account, the calendar events don't show up on my calendar, and my work email which events do show up, says in the calendar that that email address isn't valid, even though it does display my appointments.

Being a first time iMac user, and it obviously being a bit different from the mobile iOS, I really have no clue where to start. Thanks in advance for any direction.

Because Hotmail doesn't support IMAP, it's pretty useless on the desktop. It does support mobile IMAP through Exchange ActiveSync I believe, so that's why it works on mobile.

Hotmail as a POP3 account means that you get email but changes clientside (like deletions) isn't reflected server wide.

Your other issues are probably again, settings.

I guess I can change my hotmail appointments, or just all of them, to the cloud. I don't really need my email on my Mac considering its on my other devices.

Thanks for the help peeps.
